Institute of Metallurgy

     This institute was established under the support and supervision of the Ministry of Sciences, Research and Technology in 2001 and includes three departments of Metals, Ceramics, and New materials with the objective to provide necessary facilities for carrying out research projects as well as training and educating a number of specialists and establishing scientific relations with other research centers in the country.



  • providing the required facilities and a appropriate environment for conducting research projects in metallurgy, ceramic, new materials, material processing, and developing other related novel and advanced technologies
  • developing interactive scientific and technical relations with industries in order to carry out researches relevant to industry challenges and assist in solving their problems
  • training competent researchers by holding M.Sc. and Ph.D. education and research programs
  • creating, transferring, and upgrading the technical knowledge by holding specialized scientific seminars and conferences at national and international level
  • contributing to solving the issues in steel industry via presenting novel methods of steel production (as the most significant industrial metal)
  • establishing relationships with research, industry, services, and education centers with the aim to identify potentials of research and new material production, as well as to contribute to solving the country’s problems in this field.
